Google for Startups Introduces AI Academy in Pakistan

Aiming to empower entrepreneurs and accelerate AI-driven innovations in the region, an American corporation has launched its latest initiative, the AI Academy, targeting startups in Pakistan and the broader Asia-Pacific (APAC) area.

The AI Academy will bring together over 20 startups working on AI-based technologies, promoting a dynamic AI ecosystem throughout the APAC region. This initiative is expected to stimulate cross-border innovation and partnerships, facilitating a collaborative environment where startups can exchange knowledge, skills, and resources. Ultimately, this will expedite the development of cutting-edge AI solutions and position APAC as a global leader in AI innovation.

Startups selected for the program will benefit from:

- **Customised mentorship**: Access to Google's top AI experts, providing tailored guidance and support.

- **Google Cloud credits**: Up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits to help fuel AI development and testing.

- **Networking opportunities**: Platforms for engaging and collaborating with other AI-focused startups across APAC.

One of the unique aspects of the AI Academy is its focus on quickly bringing startups’ products to market. Through hands-on support, participating startups will be able to build "proof of concept" models and create clear product roadmaps. This fast-paced validation process will allow them to refine and enhance their AI offerings, ensuring rapid integration into existing systems.

By leveraging Google Cloud’s advanced tools, startups can apply their own data to create tangible AI solutions, accelerating their growth and showcasing the value of their innovations.

Farhan S. Qureshi, Google Pakistan’s country director, remarked: “The AI Academy reflects Google’s ongoing commitment to advancing AI across the Asia-Pacific region. Given Pakistan’s strategic significance, we believe that local startups will harness this opportunity to boost their AI projects, further solidifying APAC’s position in the global AI landscape.”
